GSIS offers Emergency Loan assistance o members in Luzon

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is offering Emergency Loan assistance to eligible members residing and/or working in the Luzon area after President Duterte placed the entire Luzon under an "Enhanced Community Quarantine."

To qualify for the emergency loan, the member-applicant must be: a bonafide resident or employee of the government office within the declared calamity area; be in active service and not on leave of absence without pay; has no arrears in the payment of mandatory social insurance contributions; and has no loan that has been declared in default.

Members with a GSIS eCard / UMID card may apply for an Emergency Loan through the GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (GWAPS) kiosk.

According to GSIS Vice President Margie Jorillo, the contribution and repayment of loans this February and next month are also extended without penalty.

"Extend for one month for the duration of the quarantine period, wala pong penalty 'yan," said GSIS Vice President.

"They should pay on or before May 10 this year," Jorillo added.

To pensioners, you don't have to worry because your pension will still be issued for March and April even \you won't appear yet on the GSIS,
