Purple Fridays: Teachers to wear purple on all Fridays of March

#PurpleFriday: Teachers to wear purple on all Fridays of March

The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) through its advocacy campaign "Purple Fridays" is calling all women and men advocates, including teachers to wear anything purple every Friday of March (March 6, 13, 20, and 27) to show support to the advancement of women's rights and gender equality.

Why Purple Fridays? Because purple is the color associated with magic, royalty, mystery and piety. Purple is also classified the color of women.  Also Friday is chosen because most employees are not required to wear their office uniforms on this day.

This celebration of 2020 National Women's Month (NWMC) every March is part of the worldwide observance of the International Women’s Day.

This years NWMC theme is "We Make Change Work for Women."
